Bicycles of New York
New York is the most populous city in the United States. With an estimated 8,244,910 residents as of 2011, New York is home to some of the most diverse and colorful characters from all over the planet.
New York is the only US city in which a majority (52%) of households do not have a car. Of these 52%, 21% get around the city on a bicycle. With more than 200,000 cyclists now rolling around, New York has more daily riders than any other city in the country.
The bicycles of New York have as much character and personality as the people who ride them. This photographic study is a celebration of these people, this amazing city and a century-old, simple mode of transportation.
